Technical Proposal — Engineering Firm

High-stakes proposal binder and slipcase for a New York City agency RFP. Designed layouts that set a new standard for future pursuits.

Role: Graphic designer; marketing coordinator
Deliverables: Custom printed binder, slipcase, and tabs; icon set; infographics and location maps; digital file in .PDF format

As the lead designer of the firm’s marketing team, I was responsible for the design and production of five reviewer copies and one digital copy of a proposal response to a multi-year city water supply contract RFP. Despite the firm’s long-standing relationship with the agency, our goal was to produce a package with visuals that would create a competitive edge against other firms.

This particular pursuit became a notable project for the firm. Each icon was custom-made for our write-ups. I also sourced and coordinated with a new print vendor in order to develop the design of the binders and slipcases, which were delivered on time and within budget. Although we ultimately did not win the contract, we were successful in building a new relationship with the vendor as well as developing a precedent for winning major public agency submittals moving forward.
